Do you, like us, think it is important to dedicate some of your time and energy to promote education and community involvement? CBT offers a variety of ways for both young and established professionals to get involved. If any of the options below interest you, please contact us at playarole@cbtutors.org for more information.

Activity Leader: Share a specific skill with our young learners! This could be a one-time learning opportunity or even recurring lessons. For example, you might teach the young learners and tutors how to play chess, how to build a kite, or how to knit. Imagination is your only limit. Activities take place once tutoring has ended, and they are usually 30-45 minutes long; activities should cater to students by being engaging.

Board Member: Attend quarterly board meetings and assist in the growth and development of CBT. Your role as a board member can be tailored to your interests and areas of expertise. The following are areas, that as a board member, you can contribute to:

  • Volunteer Recruitment: Assist CBT in recruiting high school and college-aged tutors.
  • Development: Research grant opportunities and write grants, as well as apply for applicable funding.
  • Event Planning: Plan fundraising events to help raise money and promote awareness of CBT. We also require board members to attend all fundraising events.
  • Finance Committee: Assist in the financial management of the organization.
  • Marketing: Assist with advertising and promotion the organization.
