This fall marked the implementation of our refined and greatly improved CBT curriculum. On December 10th both programs ended our fall programming with celebrations and a new tradition. Our curriculum takes our students and tutors on a journey through the different values CBT sees as foundational to strong communities: Respect, Friendship, Communication, Teamwork, Leadership, and Community. To punctuate this journey and make it tangible we introduced the last piece of our curriculum during our celebration: CBT Building Blocks. With each block representing a value and all participants (children, tutors, professionals) in the program receiving a block, our last task as a group was to build a joint structure. The picture at the right illustrates our first CBT structure. Leaving that day one student made the most appropriate comment: “With more people involved we can build something bigger”
